Alex just finished up a 2 1/2 day stint of some kind of "bug," involving fever and vomiting. I was not feeling well yesterday, but seems it only lasted for the day, thankfully. We had been stuck in the house for a while, so it was time to get some fresh air. It was a perfect fall day to re-visit Clegg Botanical Gardens here in Lafayette. It had been almost 2 years since we'd been there, which was when my friend, Beth, photographed our family while I was pregnant with Lydia. That was a great day, too.
Goodness, he looks so young (and innocent) here!

Such a beautiful place to visit in the fall! We had such a nice time today. Not only did we take a few actual photos, but I took many mental pictures as well. Alex was the leader during our hike, followed by me, with Mike monitoring me from behind. He was quite worried I would slip and fall into a ravine!
Someone was scared coming down!
At this point, we came across a guy who said to me, "Whoa, good for you!," when he saw me in my pregnant state. He asked me questions and just seemed pretty impressed that I was doing this at at this stage of the game. Of course, we were hoping to get labor going. I didn't really understand what the big deal was until we came across the beginning of many steps...and then I realized we'd pretty much been descending and now it was time to go up...ugh. I am so out of shape!!
It was actually two huge sets of steps...
I stopped for a breather at that landing in the middle!
An off-centered pictured taken by our jr. photographer.
We had a fabulous day...one that I hope to remember always! I love this little family of ours, but I am SO ready for the addition of our baby girl, too.

I think his off center picture was great, it looks like he just wanted to get more of the pretty trees in the background.Nonna & Grumpy - Sun October 11, 2009, 1:08 pm
