Halloween Fun

Batman lurks in the dark looking for candy.

All that trick-or-treating really wore Alex out...and Amy too. She had a cold and was tired from a long day of running around. She joked about me pulling her back home in the wagon. We took a shortcut back home through the "spooky" woods in our subdivision. Amy was scared. Afterwards, Alex made it known that it wasn't spooky at all! Once home, we sat on the porch to pass out candy.
We, I mean Alex, made out pretty well just for an hour's worth of trick-or-treating. We found a couple of houses passing out full-size candy bars...SCORE! What's the worst candy possible that people pass out? Almond Joy Bars!! Am I right? Seriously, who under the age of 60 likes that candy? Blech.
Hope you all had a great Halloween!

Our Halloween festivities started last weekend with an 8th birthday/Halloween party for cousin Alaina (the princess).

Alex dressed up for preschool. The kids paraded around the church for parents and staff. Note that there are 3 Batmans in Alex's class. The 2 Buzz Lightyears are cousins.

We didn't carve pumpkins earlier in the week like we normally do. While scarfing down dinner before trick-or-treating, Amy carved a cross in this little pumpkin.

I'll try not to take the fact that you think only senior citizens like Almond Joys as an insult -- I've loved them for ever since I can remember and like to think that I'm relatively youthful...maybe the almond/coconut mix is an acquired taste.Lisa - Wed November 5, 2008, 10:43 am
Obama! Obama! Obama! Happy Halloween little darlings. Your future is bright!Stephanie - Mon November 3, 2008, 10:57 pm
I have to agree with you on the Almond Joy comment.... yuck! On the other hand, I totally busted my weight watchers diet. Nolan let me know that he didn't like snickers (which no doubt I totally capitalized from). I mean, who doesn't like a snickers?!Janice Focosi - Mon November 3, 2008, 5:59 pm
For the record, Almond Joy, my absolute favorite candy! Turns out I must be over the age of 60. The pictures are great. It really meant a lot to us that you came for Alaina's party. The clothes are perfect and just what she needed. Love you guys!Mom (aka Nonna) - Sun November 2, 2008, 3:04 pm
Great pictures! Alex makes an adorable Batman - oh, wait, he probably wouldn't like to be described that way, would he? I love the pre-school class pix - they all look so cute. I really miss passing out Halloween candy - haven't had a one since we moved 8 years ago.Lindsay - Sat November 1, 2008, 10:44 pm
I am crackin' up at the Almond Joy comments!! I'll have to send you a picture of Ruby dressed up as a 60-year-old tourist. (Ask Amy for details.) :)I love Alex's "tough" Batman picture. :) We love you guys! Glad you had a nice Halloween!!
