Au Gratin explosion
Tonight, our dinner exploded.
We were supposed to have fish sticks and potatoes au gratin (a feast of kings!) for dinner. About 10 minutes after Amy put the potatoes in the oven, we heard a loud noice and the sound of glass pinging around! We opened the oven to find a huge mess of potatoes and broken glass. We were stunned.

Haha...good point about the fish sticks, Beth. I was not planning on eating any that night and Mike was having a few with Alex. We were about to fill the other half of the cookie sheet with popcorn shrimp, but then the explosion occurred.Beth F. - Sat November 18, 2006, 10:21 am

The same thing happened to me once! (Well, twice, sort of) I couldn't figure out what happened. I mean, it wasn't like I took the pan out of the fridge and put it directly into a preheated oven! (I also once shattered a glass lid by placing it under cold running water just after taking it out of the oven. That was a stupid choice on my part.) Anyway, at least you had the fortitude to take pictures before cleaning it up. We would have laughed our rears off, but probably wouldn't have thought to take pictures!2008 Mike and Amy Focosi
